Treat text as a user interface

There was a post on Simplebits called HyperText that stood out to me because of this statement: Web Design is 95% Typography.

We are in the middle of a complete re-write of the Boardroom Web and we are paying great attention to the site layout and design.  We don't plan on using a lot of graphics to make it look good / cool.

Here is a screen shot of what the Boardroom Web Dashboard page will look like:

Aside from the two logos in the footer, the only other graphic on the page will be customizable to each client using the site.  In this case, I put the iTech logo there as a placeholder. Everything else will be how the text is used in the interface.  It is nice to find articles written in the past confirming our design decisions.

By the way, if you didn't check out the Simplebits post, you have to look at this one font with CSS designed page for Seed Conference in Chicago.  I'd love to see other one font with CSS designs like that, truly impressive!
